The Foundation for Individual Rights in Education released a report detailing what most college graduates already know: there’s no 1st amendment on a college campus. Hot Air is outraged but surprised there are some hold out schools who respect the constitution.

I’m not surprised, the campus is the one environment where those who dream of autocratic rule can rule as autocrats. It is inevitable that a Marxist professor given tenure will make outrageous, freedom restricting demands on the “learning community” if for no other reason then the love of restricting freedom, which all Marxists secretly share in.

I’ll bet good money that the F.I.R.E. report doesn’t get a wide circulation among academics, and that any undergrads with the balls to pull out this report in in some term paper or debate gets hit with a “hate speech” charge.
