These videos show that even improperly stored food from the 80s and 90s stayed good if kept in reasonable conditions. Something the budget conscious prepper who doesn’t have access to all the materials people claim you need should keep in mind.

Part 2 is the nitty gritty. Notice that many of the cans they open have not been properly stored:
The food in the buckets showed some degradation but were still edible. The cans though were far superior, lasting even when abused. So this is food for thought for preppers who can’t afford all the “necessities” of food storage.
Wow, I’m pleasantly surprised by the Bisquick lasting that long. We’ve been wondering about storing baking mixes.
