It’s been a while since anyone even questioned where she’s been, but apparently she still makes some sort of living blurting out the things arm chair communists think but rarely say in public. Key to many boomers’ understanding of the world is that America is always the villain and was so in Vietnam, thus John McCain’s torture at the hands of the “heroes” undercuts their mythology and if left unchallenged undermines their ability to make the case that the Communists have the moral high ground.
So how does the liberal square this cognitive dissonance?

If being tortured until you’re crippled is seen by Randi Rhodes as being treated well, I assume Rhodes’ old man doesn’t expect much for his birthday.
So I thought liberals were anti-torture? Compared to what the North Vietnamese did to McCain, waterboarding seems like amateur hour at best.
Since Rhodes is a big anti-torture voice in America is her minimization of McCain’s suffering at the hands of his communist captors ignorance or a lack of personal integrity?
