Keep Your Family Away from the Union Protests

I know that many patriots and activists are looking forward to countering the DNC led union offensive that is planned for this week. Michelle Malkin has details for counter protests if you’re interested. But before you make a day of it with the family please read through the reports of what happened at the Wisconsin rallies:

From WSJ:

An AFL-CIO spokesman said unions were planning rallies, vigils and lobbying events in 29 states during the coming week, aimed at halting efforts to cut union members’ pay and benefits or roll back collective bargaining rights.

Rather than watch the bill pass over their minority votes, 14 Democratic state senators fled Wisconsin on Thursday, bringing the legislative process to a halt and giving time for union backers, including a political organization affiliated with President Barack Obama, to rally support at the statehouse.

By Friday, the protesters numbered about 30,000 and schools around the state were closed as teachers headed to Madison to march.

But by Friday night tea party-affiliated organizations were marshalling their own members, and on Saturday morning several thousand counter demonstrators began spilling into Madison carrying signs like “Sorry we’re late, we work for a living” and “The gravy train is over.”

[…]

Around 10:30 a.m. some of those taxpayers, organized by tea party-affiliated groups, gathered on the statehouse steps. As they did, thousands of union protesters stopped or slowed their marching and stood on the sidewalk, separated by a black, knee-high chain-link fence and a scattering of police officers facing the street. Each side tried to drown each other out with chants of “Kill the bill!” and “Pass the bill!” until a momentary détente was reached when a tea party speaker led the Pledge of Allegiance which both groups yelled with gusto.

Moments later, tea party speakers began exhorting their members to fight the statism they said unions were promoting. The union protesters again blasted foghorns and beat drums.

A riotous scene that got worse as frustrated leftists reverted to the violence their neo-Marxist ideology promotes. Of course, they had resorted to violence and intimidation before the Tea Party arrived. An insider described the mayhem the unions caused to WTMJ Radio:

Last night one Senator told me they had been told to clear the Capitol because the new groups coming in overnight are filled with with people “who aren’t afraid to be arrested” and the Administration could not guarantee the safety of the legislators and their staffs. In our Capitol.

On Thursday, legislators were advised to return to their offices and lock their doors. Mobs roamed the halls, banging on the glass of the doors, pounding on the walls. No one could move in the halls or enter or leave the building. The glass of the Supreme Court’s entrance was broken. Legislators were genuinely afraid. Our elected representatives were afraid. In our Capitol.

A young female reporter trying to get into the Senate chamber struggled to get through the crowd. She arrived disheveled and upset because she had been roughed up as she tried to get throughBitch-slapped” the mob told her. A senior senator was spat on. A senator and his female staffer struggled to get into the capitol. He was worried about his staffer because the crowd was grabbing at her and pushing her. University Police were two arms lengths away and did nothing. They, of course, are union.

Everyone has heard the story of the Democrats fleeing the state (Our slogan: Wisconsin; Illinois is beneath us). Everywhere are signs comparing Walker to Hosni Mubarak.  What is their end game? Overturning an election and seizing our government?

Considering that the leftists were treating women the same way Egyptian mobs were treating Lara Logan and the more than 60 other women those “democracy” protesters” raped I’d say yes, the goal is likely the same as the Egyptians.

I applaud any person willing to risk their safety to confront this horde but please do not endanger your loved ones. Leave your children at home.

I suggest reading over Michelle Malkin’s list of protest sites to see if one will be happening near you. if so – batten down the hatches. If you work near where the protests are held call in sick, stock up on supplies if you’re not prepared and wait them out. As the left gets frustrated they will turn to violence. The “hard left” is not an ideology, it’s a cult and like any cult it attracts people who are other wised damaged and who already hold an animosity toward the rest of the world. The protests are going to be very, very dangerous to be around.

Please be careful.

  1. Rob Taylor,

If these guys keep it up they’re just going to loose sympathy for their cause. I had more empathy for them when this thing first started.
