Who wouldn’t want to grow marijuana in a city where the police have flat out told citizens that they will not physically respond to the crimes of theft, burglary, and extortion? It’s not like the hapless hippy who opens up a pot farm would have to worry about people breaking into his business, stealing pot and shaking him down, right?

OAKLAND, California — The city of Oakland, California on Tuesday legalized large-scale marijuana cultivation for medical use and will issue up to four permits for “industrial” cultivation starting next year.
The move by the San Francisco Bay Area city aims to bring medical marijuana cultivation into the open and allow the city to profit by taxing those who grow it.
The resolution passed the city council easily after a nearly four-hour debate that pitted small-scale “garden” growers against advocates of a bigger, industrial system that would become a “Silicon Valley” of pot.
“This is going to grow as an industry. And someone is going to have a high-tech producer,” Council Member Jean Quan said during the debate.
Oakland already taxes sales of medical marijuana, but cultivation has existed in a legal gray area. Council members plan later action to levy new taxes on growers.
This is a desperate grab for tax dollars that will put people danger. California is referred to in some quarters as The People’s Republic of California because of it’s draconian gun laws and disregard for people’s right to self-defense and defense of property. So how is growing pot in Oakland going to work?
The police will not respond to calls about a thief or a worse, someone telling you they’ll kill you and your family unless you pay them. Police will respond if you defend your farm from robbers or gangs looking to “tax” you … by hauling you off to jail.
So who would farm pot in that situation? Morons.
Only a moron would open a pot farm in Oakland. I just posted video of the police being ambushed by snipers there. Oakland is almost lawless now and these pot farms will be a prize gangs will fight over as a gutted and destitute police department looks on helplessly.
