Police Were Warned About Crazed Stoner David Delich Months Before Shooting Spree!

David Delich was making threats against people on MySpace and even wrote a blog entry on the site, dated February 22 of this year, which said he planned to ambush and kill police officers! Unbelievably the authorities ignored reports of his escalating behavior even while he was arming himself for his shooting spree.

From AZStar:

The MySpace messages ranged from bizarre to downright scary.

On Dec. 1, 2007, David “Nick” Delich, contacted former classmate and prom date Erin Schrader for the first time since he graduated from Sabino High School in 2001.

Delich, using the screen name “Bogoljub,” told Schrader that he was finally in a place where he could “capitalize on all his hard work” and put people in their place.

In the next, Delich said he was going to re-create the Holocaust and Schrader should “paint a target” on her forehead.

A few days later, “I have a surprise for you and your family, but I have to give it to you in person. It will be awesome.”

The last message, dated Feb. 27, 2008, was addressed to “Hey Phony” and asked, “Ready to spontaneously combust?”

Alarmed, Schrader got in touch with some of her old friends who knew Delich.
It turns out that at least six of them had received similar messages.

Like Schrader, they had tried to block Delich’s messages, only to have him send more messages under a different screen name.

It got to the point, Schrader said, that she looked over her shoulder wherever she walked, locked her bedroom door at night and told everyone she knew to give police Delich’s name if anything ever happened to her. She also said she called police after the last e-mail to report Delich.

So when she heard that three local law-enforcement officers had been shot — one fatally — and that Delich, 25, was a suspect, Schrader got mad.

“I was mad the police hadn’t taken me more seriously,” Schrader said. “I can’t say this could’ve been prevented, but it (my report) should’ve been so much more of an eye-opener.”

In fact, if police had checked out Delich’s MySpace accounts, they would have seen a blog written on Feb. 22, Schrader said. The blog says, “Soon, I plan to kill many police officers.”

The unpunctuated and uncapitalized message discusses what he calls trumped-up charges, a plan to shoot “them,” and getting shot instead.

“that was the plan, wasn’t it? backfire time. well see who gets shot and killed. and that is a threat to you pigs. every one. Ill see you, when your all alone. and itll be me and you. and then well see how it goes down. oh. were gonna see. boy are we.”

The police didn’t take the reports seriously though, even as Delich became increasingly hostile and started racking up arrests. Many of his friends also didn’t take his threats seriously:

Delich was always a little odd, a handful of his former classmates said Monday.

He told Schrader and Freibert that he was a prophet, put on Earth for a reason.

Schrader remembers that Delich would often change religions and try to persuade his friends to convert as well. He also had ideas and theories that were strange but that they simply brushed off.

Stepbrothers Shane Corrie and Jesse Wood, both 25, met Delich in their freshman year at Sabino.

They said Delich was a “pretty normal” teenager, albeit quiet and reserved. He wasn’t involved in any clubs or sports but was generally accepted by his peers. He “experimented” with drugs such as marijuana, mushrooms, cocaine, LSD and Ecstasy, they said.

According to online court records, Delich has been arrested six times since 2002 on misdemeanor charges, including accusations of liquor-law violation, marijuana possession and disorderly conduct. Five of the charges were dismissed. He was placed on probation last July after pleading guilty to criminal trespass in Ajo Justice Court.

Around his senior year, Delich began isolating himself and became more unstable, Corrie and Wood said.

“He started to get gradually crazier and crazier, and started saying some crazy stuff later on,” Corrie said.

He would say he was a descendant of Jesus and had a hole in his neck that marked him as having direct lineage to Jesus. He also would tell people that he could make the wind move and then take them outside and say, “Can you feel that?”

After high school, he didn’t work or go to college, they said.

“He never did anything except sit around and think weird, crazy thoughts,” Corrie said.

Neither Corrie nor Wood had seen Delich in the past few years, but they kept in touch with him through e-mails and MySpace, they said.

The brothers learned of Delich’s love of guns, resentment toward girls and hatred of authority from his e-mails and his “Bogoljub” MySpace account.

So Delich was a crazed stoner who sat around getting high and convincing himself that the elaborate fantasy world he wanted to live in was real and telling people he was a god. He was arrested numerous times and never received a significant punishment, or treatment.  And his parents gave him money to buy guns and drugs I assume since he didn’t work. Sounds like a lot of people dropped the Ball on this one.

We may never know if anyone could have prevented this tragedy, but we do know that Delich announced his intentions on the Internet, and we should have taken him at his word.

  1. A “David Delich” of Tucson, Arizona, also made pro-Israel posts on the net, besides looking very jewish.

You lose, neocon. A chosen person – carrying out the lords work. If you feel rampaging against goyim in Palestine is justified, the same in the US must also be justified.

  2. What do Jews look like?

And a neo-con, even by the definition of cretin such as you is someone who was a Marxist first than became a conservative. I was never a Marxist and I’m frankly not a “conservative” but was born, and will die, a Republican.

I’ll bet you a $25 dollar Amazon gift certificate that David Delich (and Delich is a Croatian surname by the way) is a lefty like yourself, and I’d like to see these pro-Israeli statements. Where are they?

It’s typical that someone such as you would try to turn the shooting spree of a drug crazed degenerate into some comment on Jews. Your lack of empathy for the family of the officer killed, needlessly since Delich should have been institutionalized by his family or the state is as disgusting as your penchant for child brides and mass murder.

I mean that’s what the “goyim” in Palestine are up to isn’t it? Raping Christian women, blowing themselves up and marrying child brides?

  3. Someone took reefer madness to heart. I noticed a lack of citations for the marijuana being linked to mental illness and very little objective sources. Those statistics are not based on any actual research that can be replicated consistently. I’m not saying marijuana is healthy, but neither is lying and, or attributing Davids actions to pot use. Charles Babbage the architect and builder of the analytical and difference engines was a marijuana smoker. You can see his invention, on which computing technology today is based, at Harvard to this day. I also noticed no comparisons to those with mental illness who have never used any drugs. Also marijuana has no link what so ever to causing schizophrenia in a normal brain. Also marijuana is not linked, nor is there any evidence to support the conclusion, that links pot as a sole contributor, to violent offenses. FACT: the author of this article used the tragic events as a case against marijuana. LAMER If your going to protest the use of marijuana then fine, but using the death of another man to support your erroneous conclusions is just shameful. If marijuana really contributes to those illnesses then why aren’t the streets flooded with psycho paths. Every college dorm from here to the edge of the flat earth you live on would be filled with maniacs, but they are not. Also the studies on schizophrenia are very general, and there is still no conclusive evidence supporting the claim of illness for the average user, only for those predisposed to illness from physical brain abnormalities. whether cannabis causes psychosis independent of any other risk factors is not supported by the existing literature and most experts do not believe it. yes MOST. Your report is biased and disingenuous and… using someones death to post this garbage is abhorrent. Also, i don’t smoke pot, but i know people who do, and though I do not, I at least do not make them out to be physically retarded monsters using poor research and faulty claims like you do. How could you call yourself a journalist without considering all the facts. You should know i think this article is harmful. You’re a rotten LIAR! You hurt people you don’t even see with your nonsense. How many people now will react more harmfully, out of fear, violence, and ignorance towards others because they listened to you. Pot may not be healthy or my choice lifestyle, but i do not have to distort facts to make a point that its not healthy at least. I can convince others not to use without using propaganda.

  4. Wow you wrote that entire comment before (including the very unfunny refer madness joke) on a different post.

By the way if the streets aren’t “full of psychopaths” then why are our prisons full?

Don’t bother answering, I don’t want to comb through my old posts looking for your answers. Perhaps if you weren’t getting high (although you don’t get high, explaining why you’re so upset by criticism of getting high) you’d stop repeating yourself and read my other posts with the studies included. You know like the one you left the other comment on.

  5. Is that so? You assert that only psychopaths end up in prison. you’re not that bright are you? oh well. no one is all the time i guess. Maybe you should get out more instead. Those studies do not prove anything except that scare tactics are common in your line of work because if it came to honest persuasion you could not handle the task. I can also gather scientific studies refuting those claims that have actual results and not speculation. I also read the reports you read. Not bad, just too bad, after all these years, they’re still inconclusive at best. I intend to comment on as much of your nonsense as i can. Also maybe your experts should try something other than synthetic blends, or maybe scientific results should all be rigged to support your agenda. I can also post links. Just let me know when you wanna get down good buddy!

-“They must find it difficult, those that take authority as truth, instead of truth as the authority” Gerald Massey.

That is probably the only intelligent thing Massey ever said. He was an idiot and everything he knew of Egypt was crap. Sorry to add this last part. Hope it explains itself.

  6. Hmph! Sorry for comparing you to David. You’re better than that. hehe I do get carried away sometimes. But that is all I’m sorry for. =p

  7. I didn’t assert only psychopaths end up in prison, I said our prisons are full; full of people that rape each other even while they’re in the joint. You claimed that recreational pot smoking would cause a crime wave if it damaged brains and that there is no evidence of this, I pointed out that we do have a crime wave as evidenced by our violent prison population.

I have been out more than you no doubt. I grew up in a Ghetto called East Orange NJ where drug dealers who got high on their off hours had one of their prospects shoot a 12-year-old ion the chest as his initiation, where after getting high two 14-year-old prospects for the Bloods dragged their neighbor into their house and stabbed her in the head with a screw driver for their initiation. I’ve been shot at, jumped and had guns pulled on me 3 times and most o those times the assailants reeked of pot so stop pretending that pot smokers simply aren’t capable of violence.

Marijuana is smoked by people to lower their inhibitions, to alter their perceptions and often as a coping mechanism because they lack the emotional maturity to cope with life sober. Pot smoking (like any drinking or drugging) keeps people in permanent adolescence and just as each drug has different effects on it’s users pot smokers exhibit paranoia and delusional thinking after heavy or chronic use. The idea it is harmless is negated in my mind not just by those studies but by the viciousness of attacks by you and every other pot smoker who comes here and predictably accuses me of being worse than a criminal for having an opinion they don’t like about a substance they do.

Because you were high you may have forgotten this, but you didn’t go to any scientific study or argue a point. You simply trolled my blog with hysterical comments like “You’re a Rotten Liar!” Carried away? Yeah, you’re also projecting a bit, no?

Massey by the way was a Theosophist, and though his theories “Sun god” theory (which was popular with all academics in his time period) may not be 100% correct the field of Comparative Religion owes it’s life to him and the Theosophical movement. Frankly I find his writings no less credible than the modern Egyptologists who also view Egypt through their own fanciful lens. no one will ever really no the mysteries of ancient Egypt and anyone who tells you other wise is a hack.

  8. fantastic response! i just like debating. however i was not high during or after or before posting anything on this site or any other. like i said i do not smoke weed. ill mail u my piss upon request. i do agree with you. my response was instant and not thought out entirely calling you a liar was ill of me as well. i also grew up in a few ghettos and yes i know what it is like to witness shootings and have had guns pulled on me. All kinds of people commit crimes and some quite soberly. most drug dealers i know for instance never use their own product. i am working on my critical thinking and debating skills. i am still young. i would never argue that marijuana is healthy. however i did go to quite a few of those links you posted and did read them over. i am learning to cite sources. ill work on that later. forgive my lack of punctuation. thanks for your time. ill try harder to think the issue out before i respond in the future.

  9. i suppose it is that i know a lot of people who do and do not use marijuana. In my experience i have never witnessed and tragic event resulting from it. HOWEVER i maintain that i do not smoke pot and have never NEVER been high while posting anything on your site not even beer.

  10. if you say i was high again then i want you to go through the trouble and ill go through the trouble as well of proving it. also it sounds like the context of those crimes is missing a lot of other points, and just as pertinent causal factors, that can be maintained as well. if you want to get a hold of me ill help you out. im just say sticking to well known facts as they can be more persuasive. pot is a carcinogen. it can slow response time. it causes a lack of memory retention. it does cause paranoia in certain users. i also know a lot more. it does affect an area of the brain which is also known to be involved with schizophrenia but there are many more factors in schizophrenia than just that area of the brain. it causes cancer. so many things other than marijuana also cause these things. however why not call the title of the article david delich the guy who asked for help and got none goes crazy. he deserves jail. even if he didnt kill that cop. just shooting at a cop is one of the worst things i can think of. i maintain as well that cops become cops to serve the people, to help and to protect us and the stress is awful. one day maybe i can help in some way. anyways, good luck in your future and take care. if youd forgive me for not exactly being more professional about how i respond to your opinion id appreciate it.
