Obamunists, allied with violent anarchists and anti-capitalists, tried to halt Sarah Palin’s motorcade and probably assault the Governor and her family. Luckily police from Grand Junction, Colorado saved the day and wrestled the Manson-esque group away from the Governor, but during the altercation one of the Obama supporters shoved a police officer in front of a moving car! Here’s video:
CNN reports the incident this way:
Protesters tried to block the motorcade of Republican vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin in Grand Junction, Colorado, on Monday, but police dragged them out of the way.
The incident — just feet from the car carrying Palin — was captured on video by CNN affiliate KKCO-TV.
Eight to 10 protesters broke away from a larger group of demonstrators and darted into the street in front of Palin’s car just after the first police motorcycles in her motorcade had passed, said Acting Chief Troy Smith of the Grand Junction Police Department.
Wearing bandanas and with their faces covered, the protesters blocked the path and held up a large banner. Officers stopped their motorcycles, grabbed the protesters and dragged several out of the path of the oncoming motorcade.
At least two demonstrators were tackled and forced to the ground before being pulled away. One officer fell backwards into the path of an approaching vehicle but he was able to get out of the way in time.
Palin’s vehicle passed without a problem as other protesters chanted on the sidewalk, about a block from a site where Palin had addressed a rally.
Smith said officers saved the protesters from injury because “the motorcade likely would not have stopped” for them. He said “we don’t know what their intentions were” in trying to block Palin’s motorcade.
If by “fell” you mean got shoved by some would-be murderer than I guess that’s what happened. Police are investigating the incident.
Gateway Pundit has more.
Who ever runs this site is a moron. Lets begin with your headline; first off they were not obama supporters, secondly its a crime in the state of colorado for people to publish libelous accusations. “tried to halt Sarah Palin’s motorcade and probably assault the Governor and her family.” Those protester could sue you off of the web. Not to mention where did you came up with the idea that they tried to kill a police officer? Colorado has a criminal libel statute for which you could spend a year in jail. hope this site isn’t registered to your name.
I’m the moron but you don’t know what libel is. O.K.
A) It isn’t libel to suppose that criminals trying to stop a car have something else in mind when the car stops. It isn’t libelous to assume that would be assault either. As Red Alerts Lawyers would say: “Assault is an intentional attempt or threat to inflict injury upon a person, coupled with an apparent, present ability to cause the harm, which creates a reasonable apprehension of bodily harm or offensive contact in another. Assault does not require actual touching or bodily harm to the victim.”
B) No one can sue me off the web, but by all means they are welcome to try.
C) One of the protesters struggles with a cop led to him fall in the path of oncoming traffic. My opinion is that the protester was at best showing depraved indifference but was likely trying to get the cop hit. I believe that with all my heart, so sue me. I dare you.
D) What statute does Colorado have that puts bloggers in jail for giving an opinion on the web. Obama isn’t President yet, so I still have some months to go before Commissars come knocking on my door.
E) My wife handles the web registration but why would it need to be under my name for your imaginary Colorado brown shirts to find me. I’m the one blogger on the web that uses his real name. I’m Rob Taylor, it says so right on every post. Learn to read moron.
I’ll tell you what I tell every douchbag that mails in some stupid legal threat. Bring it on.
I do not hear much about “INDEPENDENTS”. Our Nation was to be an Independent Nation. With Independent Citizens, as it was said, “Independent with Liberty and Justice for all.
Independent dose not include subsidy. “Socialists Values†have crippled us. Independence is what made America. Socialism is what is destroying America.
It will make no difference who is elected President “CORPORACRACY” needs “SOCIALISM” to survive and “OBAMA” is ahead!
At least these people had the courage to
a) protest in front of police (ie, take responsibility for their actions)
and
b) act directly against that which they find offensive
unlike the cowards who have been making death threats and doing other nasty things to ordinary supporters of Obama.

Your words. “At least these people had the courage to”

Clearly, your people do have the courage to under mine America… Socialism is killing America. “CORPORACRACY” expunges Patriotism. Corporacracy loves Socialism. OBAMA AND ALL THE REST OF CONGRESS LOVE SUBSIDY. Subsidy is Socialism. Are you a COMMUNISTS?

Illinois is the election fraud capitol of America. Obama and his co-conspirators are from Illinois. X-senator Dan Roustanski and his associated friends some still in office some not, but still are working the mix. Seems you have your head in the wrong place. If you are willing to fight to keep “LIBERTY”, you had better buy some bullets. Clocks a ticken. Times a commin. The path has already been chosen. Enjoy your “CHOICEâ€.
Well said Liberty. We agree on this at least, the thugs protesting for change are America’s Khmer Rouge.
Rob, I think you are inciting a hateful attitude with your comment that these protestors had it in mind to harm someone. If that were the case, they would not be in the streets in front of everyone, but rather waiting in the shadows, and likely armed. I am curious as to your age, and what you are so afraid of. Fear is what makes people over react to incidents and try to incite others to their way of thinking. Fear of dying? Well, hell man, it’s going to happen to all of us one day, so the key is to be civilized in spite of that fear. Add to the fear or add to the love – your choice.
So the people who dragged Reggie Denny out of his truck and beat him into a coma while a news chopper hovered over them weren’t in a mind to hurt someone? Maybe you aren’t old enough to remember the LA riots?
What about the VTech shooter, he didn’t skulk in the shadows? Or the Columbine shooters?
You’re an extremely naive “man” Baldwin, one who is clearly sheltered from life. I grew up in a neighborhood where people jumped people in public all the time. I’ve been shot at (for being Bi-racial) had guns pulled on me and was attacked many times. You’re asinine “spread the love” theory is called a victim mentality. I guarantee that if you lived where I have you’d be eaten alive.
So Astroturf somewhere else hippy. Or at least use a thesaurus. The fact the net is lousy with comments that sound exactly like yours isn’t what David Axelrod had in mind when he sent you douches out to make it look like Democrats were 21st Century Jesus Freaks.
And if you read more than one post you’d know I’m 37. And should I take it you’re 15 or so?
Watch these videos and tell me dangerous people don’t commit crimes in plain view of the world:

Actually, Rob, I was referring to the protestors at the motorcade, not those other crimes you listed. I haven’t seen your blog before, so no, I didn’t know you were 37. When I was 15 (since you ask), it was 1967, and I was at South Shore High School on Chicago’s south side, Blackstone Rangers and all. You sound like you had to be tough to survive- okay, I respect that, but what I don’t get is how the anger somehow makes things improve? Those protesters were a pretty tame bunch, so it was overkill to say they wanted to murder anyone. You obviously read, and take an interest in politics, but I have to encourage you to be less angry and more interested in what exactly will spare some other kid from what you had to live through.
The protesters aren’t tame if they’re blocking a motorcade. Clearly being a boomer you think cops are disposable but I’ll throw this to you. If that cop had been killed when his head ended up in front of an oncoming car while some guy wrestled with him, who would have been at fault?
The cop needed to pull himself out of the way of the car and if he hadn’t he’d have been run over. Why do you think that’s O.K.?
