FireDogLake Fears Red Alerts (or Trackbacks)

So I wrote a tempered and well measured response to TRex’s FireDogLake post on Michelle Malkin’s cheerleading abilities, trackbacking so that FDL members could get a fair and balanced viewpoint. Lo and behold as soon as the oversensitive lug got a little taste of criticism (the same type he heaped on Malkin) my trackback gets removed!

Outrageous!

At least I have the screen shot for posterity.

Sweet. But I thought the left was all about freedom of speech and “speaking truth to power,” not like we fascist Republicans. I guess pointing out the vile racism, hypocrisy and misogyny of someone from the left counts as some sort of hate speech exception.

You know, because the left hates to hear speech it doesn’t agree with.

I was going to trackback again, but TRex closed the pings and comments. I guess dissent really isn’t welcome at FireDogLake. Maybe I’ll try another post

  1. I read FDl. More often than not I’m informed by the snark and follow the sources.
I can’t speak to the trackback errors but I do vaule FDL as source of “commentary” and a link the news.

  2. You don’t find immature and oftimes racist? Call me old fashioned, but Wjites calling a Black, or Asian a token or a sell out because they don’t agree with other Whites seems incredibly racist.

  3. i dunno Wjites nor do i recall the name.

i do recall that a disussion occured about the place of Malkin within the blogosphere.

personally, i skipped that particular discourse and sought news.

  4. I meant Whites, it was a typo

But I’m also talking about the site overall, not just one post about Malkin. Non-Whites who are Conservatives or Libertarians are treated as if they sold out their race, by people who aren’t of that race. I mean, go lord the FDLers acted like Blacks should still vote for Lamont after it was disclosed he belonged to a Whites only club.

My point is that FDL reminds me, as a Bi-Racial man, of the group of “liberals” I avoided in college, because they were constantly saying something racist, than claiming they had “a Black friend”.

I’d like to find a group of on-line liberals who I could debate without the venom. People who could say they aren’t fond of Secretary Rice’s policies with out the racist sub text, or who can criticize Michelle Malkin without seeming like their picturing her in a snuff film.
