Red Alerts is Changing Part I: Why We’re Changing

I’ve been blogging since 2005 or so and blogging on Red Alerts since October 5, 2006. Red Alerts’ focus may have seemed scattered, but the main goal has always been to expose readers to the people, organizations and cultural trends that negatively impact the lives of Americans. That, of course, meant my heavy involvement in politics, but also law and order issues. At the time there was a need in the country for counter opinion to what were essentially neo-Marxist dogmatic social theories that produced most of the societal ills we face.

But almost four years later we live in a much different world.

Or maybe it’s just a much clearer world. When I started this blog the theory was that there was a political debate in this country, that the marketplace of ideas was the battleground where what social conservatives call the Culture Wars were being fought. To be sure, everyone that has followed this blog knows it’s not altruism that drives my many different blogs, but I did believe strongly that while working as a web content developer I was going to add to the discourse, convince people with open minds of the rightness of my rightism. Indeed, I still think in some limited circumstance that may be the case.

But it’s a waste of time.

Western Civilization isn’t collapsing as many social conservatives claim. It has collapsed. American prosperity isn’t in danger, it is over and we are now living on the rotting carcass of economic freedom. We have lost the war against militant Islam, we have ceded Latin and Central Americas to violent communist movements that are building up their military capability for a confrontation with us and we have effectively lost control of the Southwest. The answer the left in this country has to this is to support groups that openly endorse a second Holocaust. Democrats have been caught red handed in treasonous dealings with narco-terror groups like FARC and the Federal government along with the media is attacking Arizona for passing a law that is basically a verbatim copy of federal immigration law that is already on the books.

Does anyone think there is a debate to be had here?

My wife told me that the gals at Feministing are ecstatically happy that there is some new birth control that involves using ultrasounds to temporarily sterilize men. Do you have to be Freud to figure out a woman who is giddy at a scheme where she dangles the reward of unprotected sex to men who have some procedure done to their genitals which damages the sperm inside, and for which we aren’t sure what the long term effects, if any, will be? On her post she even has a cartoon of an unhappy sperm which looks suspiciously like an older man. Is there a political argument to be had here? Or isn’t it clear that this is primarily a psychological issue for these women?

Long time readers know I’m an “Anti” as in anti-Pedophile activist allied with groups like Pagans Against Child Abuse and blogs like Absolute Zero United. I have had multiple people tell me in the past several weeks that I was a fascist for being opposed to child sexual exploitation, many of those people college-aged women. You tell me how that debate should play out. How do you argue with a person who thinks a 40-year-old having sex with a 9-year-old is “not that bad” if they both consent?

And how does society keep running when people like this are becoming teachers?

We live in a world where people who live in cities want to ban fossil fuels but have no idea that without the big rigs making dozens of trips a day into New York or Los Angeles they’d starve to death. We have “environmentalists” who don’t know that coyotes will attack children, or that raccoons eat cats. I estimate 80% of Americans can’t take care of themselves without the complex web of industry and energy that makes their lives possible, and it is this web of industry and energy exploitation that they have helped the left destroy. In 2008 retailers had to ration rice, flour and other grains because there isn’t enough food being produced. In 2009 reports were released that were released that global rice stockpiles were dangerously low. A new strain of wheat rust called UG99 has the potential to wipe out 90% of the world’s wheat.

These are well known facts, yet leftists promote causes that limit, not increase, food production. They want to ban genetically modified foods when GM wheat is the only way we can stop what could be a worldwide famine. They want ethanol production increased when we need all the corn we produce for food because of crop shortages. The people promoting many of these environmental policies know it will lead to decreased food production. So where is the debate?

There is none. The time for debate is over. The time to stop America from collapsing is over because it already has. These people who collapsed the system are one empty grocery shelf away from kicking in your door and killing you for what’s in your fridge.

Now is the time to get prepared. You or me or the Republicans or the Tea Party cannot save America from slipping into second world status. We can save ourselves however. It’s time to start thinking about protecting your family and your communities. The best case scenario for many of us is that, as Russian “scholars” are predicting (meaning would like to see happen), America breaks into regions. At least then there may be a “little America” for you to move to. In reality we’re going to look like Argentina, except more violent and the target of other countries who see American weakness as an invitation to attack our interests.

Don’t get me wrong, I’ll still be voting and keep my NRA membership. But if the Republicans sweep the house in November, so what? It’ll be a reprieve, a time for you to start getting self-sufficient. California just announced a new budget late today for a reason. There will be riots when social programs start getting cuts. And California’s problems are coming to New York, Detroit and every major city where more people are getting some sort of assistance than are paying taxes. Cali came up more than a billion dollars short on income tax this year. Think about that for a second.

It is now imperative that people have access to information on how to survive in a coming world where food and resources will be scarce and revolution of all kinds will be in the air. Red Alerts will no longer be covering the political but the practical. We will deal in self-reliance, self-sufficiency and reports that warn you of actual dangers to avoid. My crime blogging will now be found on Greenville Dragnet.

I will post later about the specific changes coming and want to thank the readers who’ve supported Red Alerts for the last few years and hope the new Red Alerts is as edifying to them as the old Red Alerts was.

This is Why I Hate Pajamas Media

Earlier today I got a story from Pam Geller of Atlas Shrugs, who got it from Denis Keohane at American Thinker who was writing about something he saw on, you guessed it, Pajamas Media. Long time readers will notice that I have very rarely linked to the brainchild of noted liar Charles Johnson and Roger Simon and this incident reinforces my views. Pajamas Media remained on the sidelines while Charles Johnson single handedly smothered the online counter-jihad movement in its crib starting with his attacks on Gates of Vienna and most recently with his racism set up of Hot Air.

But even then I assumed the information provided by PJ blogger Michael Ledeen was accurate and had been verified which was simply laziness on my part. Partly this was due to my respect for Ledeen’s work with the Foundation for the Defense of Democracies, but that doesn’t excuse the mistake. I apologize to readers for posting erroneous information and my lapse in judgment for not being skeptical of PJ when it counted. I should have known better.

Jane Hamsher: 9/11 Trutherism is Mainstream Democratic Ideology and Obama’s a Wingnut

Can we question their patriotism now? Jane Hamsher not only claims that 9/11 trutherism is the mainstream of Democratic politics (and the head scratching logic she uses to get to this conclusion makes me question her sanity) but she goes on to claim, get this, that Obama isn’t far enough to the left because he won’t allow her friends to attack the Blue Dog Democrats and the American Medical Association! You know, because what would advance the liberal agenda more than eating their own and to be seen publicly calling doctors scumbags.

First the trutherism:

I first met Van Jones when he was honored last year by the Campaign for America’s Future at their gala dinner.  He was being swarmed by all of the liberal institutional elite, who just could not be more full of praise for the impressive environmental leader and prison reform organizer.  Everybody wanted Van Jones on their board.  Everyone wanted him at their fundraisers.  Everyone wanted a piece of his formidable limelight.

Now he’s been thrown under the bus by the White House for signing his name to a petition expressing something that 35% of all Democrats believed as of 2007 — that George Bush knew in advance about the attacks of 9/11.  Well, that and calling Republicans “assholes.”  I’m pretty sure that if you search through the histories of every single liberal leader at the CAF dinner that night, they have publicly said that and worse.

So where are all the statements defending Van Jones by those who were willing to exploit him when it served their purpose?  Why aren’t they standing up  and defending one of their own, who has done nothing that probably the majority of people in the Democratic party haven’t done at one time or another?  Is he no longer “one of their own?”

So 35% of a group of people is the mainstream? Because the poll to which she alludes is more correctly interpreted as meaning the mainstream Democrat view (65%) reject conspiracy mongering. We on the right say 35% is a horrifically high number of people who believe a conspiracy propagated by Alex Jones and his ilk. This is just more evidence of Hamsher’s essential insulation from reality.

Then she begins telling stories out of school about her own fairly conspiratorial dealings with liberal special interest groups and the White House, hamshering (a word I am now officially coining) her relationship with the web of Soros funded Communist insurgencies that allows the hack producer of horrible films to be part of the elite who think they will one day rule America. As an aside, the only good movie Hamsher was ever involved with was From Hell, which was an elaborate conspiracy fantasy, like 9/11 being allowed to happen.

Hamsher herself seems upset that Obama and his crew aren’t involved in a conspiracy with her that would include Stalin-esque purges of moderates, attacks on the American Medical Association and most bizarrely a coordinated campaign by the White House with the Soros groups surrounding it to defend not just Van Jones, but trutherism, anti-Capitalism and full on Bolivarism:

Soon after the election, the Administration began corralling the big liberal DC interest groups into a variety of organizations and communication networks through which they telegraphed their wishes — into a virtual veal pen.  The 8:45 am morning call co-hosted by the “liberal” Center for American Progress, Unity 09, and Common Purpose are just a few of the overt ways that the White House controls its left flank and maintains discipline.

My own experience with the Veal Pen came indirectly, when some of them had the temerity to launch a campaign against Blue Dogs.  They were rebuked and humiliated in front of their peers as a lesson to them all at a Common Purpose meeting, which is run by lobbyist Erik Smith.  White House communications director Ellen Moran attends.  It isn’t an arms-length relationship between these groups and the administration.

A few weeks ago, Rahm Emanuel showed up at a Common Purpose meeting and called these liberal groups “fucking stupid” for going after Blue Dogs on health care and ordered them not to do so any more.  Since that time, to the best of my knowledge, none of them have.

In other words Obama and the Democrats were supposed to be taking marching orders from the rich, White progressive elites and he hasn’t knuckled under yet. Jane and company wanted a good old fashioned purge of Conservative Democrats (holding what were Republican seats) and the Democrats have the nerve to try to, I don’t know, keep those seats. Then the spurned Hamsher hits Obama directly:

When the White House met with bankers after the AIG scandal and they said they didn’t want to be criticized for getting huge bonuses paid for by taxpayers, the White House complied and “cooled their rhetoric.”  The President told the public that Timothy Geithner had been instructed to do everything in his power to claw back those bonuses, and the House passed a bill doing just that.  But it died in the Senate.

You remember all those campaigns by the unions, by the online groups, by liberal economics and finance organizations pushing the Senate to take it up?

Yeah, me either.

Which means that the teabaggers were in perfect position to harvest all of the discontent over the bank bailout, and no coherent liberal critique was offered.  I heard it over and over again — if you wanted to criticize the White House on financial issues, your institutional funding would dry up instantly.  The Obama campaign successfully telegraphed to donors that they should cut off Fund for America, which famously led to its demise.   It wasn’t the last time something like that happened — just ask those who were receiving  institutional money who criticized the White House and saw their funding cut, at the specific request of liberal institutional leaders who now principally occupy their time by brown nosing friends and former co-workers in the White House.

And so the groups in the DC veal pen stay silent.  They leadership gets gets bought off by cocktail parties at the White House while the interests of their members get sold out.  How many have openly pushed back against the Administration on Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell or DOMA? Well, not many.  Most tried to satisfy their LGBT members by outsourcing activism to other organizations, or proving their bona fides by getting involved in the Prop 8 battle that is not directly toxic to the White House.  It’s a chickenshit sidestep that betrays their members in the interest of personal gain, which they justify with feeble self-serving palliatives about the importance of “maintaining a seat at the table.”

Where are they on health care?  Why aren’t they running ads against the AMA, the hospitals, the insurance industry barons who have $700 million in stock options, PhRMA, the device manufacturers and the White House for doing back room deals with all of the above?

Why are they not calling for the White House to release the details of those secret deals?

Needless to say, this criticism of the Obama administration’s corporatism is racist. But what kind of fascist do you have to be to suggest that rather than run ads promoting your health care platform you should run attack ads on doctors and hospitals? The same people you want to work in this new system of yours. It’s almost as if she and other health care proponents are willing to force people to work in a system they don’t like.

Of course Hamsher returns to Jones. Like a schoolgirl with a crush on the motorcycle riding dropout with the Warrant tattoo on his bicep, Hamsher just can’t believe everyone isn’t rising to the defense of misunderstood bad boy Van Jones. And the lack of support for a man who claims White environmentalists are in cahoots with evil corporations to poison Black folk among those same White environmentalists is a moral outrage that cannot be unchallenged:

If these groups, if these liberal leaders, let Jones just hang there while Glenn Beck pounds his chest and celebrates the scalp, we have no liberal institutions.  What we have are a bunch of neoliberal enablers who have found a nice comfortable place in the DC establishment that they don’t want to jeopardize, a place on the new K-Street gravy train that they don’t want to lose.  Dropping Van Jones from their rolodex is a small price to pay.

If there is going to be a serious progressive movement in this country capable of standing up for health care against an industry that spends $1.4 million a day on lobbying, we can’t just look to the members of the Progressive Caucus and say “hey, you, get something done.”  They need cover.  They need to know that they will be supported.  And people like Van Jones who have given their lives to causes we say we value like prison reform and environmental advocacy need to know that they will be defended, and not handed over to Glenn Beck as an acceptable casualty in the battle for K-Street dollars.

So to all you liberal organizations in the “veal pen” — this is your moment of truth.  I get all your emails.  And the next Common Purpose meeting is probably on Tuesday.  If you can’t get it together to at least put out a statement of support for Van Jones and condemn the White House for using him as a sacrificial lamb to right wing extremists that will devour us all if left unchecked, it’s time to add “proudly liberal only when it doesn’t matter” to your logo and be done with it.

Van Jones wants the same people she is asking to support him to be held responsible for racial and class grievances he has largely made up. Van Jones wants to take all the money Hamsher makes on royalties and distribute it to others. Van Jones believes Hamsher herself is part of the problem, yet she squirted out this call for progressives to stand with him in orgasmic ignorance of what Jones stands for. She shrilly decries the White House doing to her and her progressive friends what she encourages Jones to do to me and other people on the right. It is a fantasy based view of the world she has, where conspiracy theories are acceptable, conspiring with radicals to overturn capitalism is acceptable (and consequenceless), and the only real sin is not conforming to her armchair Marxist view of the world. She accuses Obama of being a “neoliberal” in her piece which is the leftist version of our own and overused RINO, in other words she’s saying Obama’s basically a wingnut, like everyone on the right.

But reading through her childishly angry tirade, just the latest in a long career of outlandishness, who is really the nut? The woman supporting Trutherism or the Democrats trying to stay in power?

Career Criminal Tries to Convince Judge He’s Crazy – By Eating his Own Feces

James Orr is a career criminal looking down the barrel of what would probably be the 60-year-old’s last stay in prison after kidnapping and robbing a woman. Clever con artist that he is, he remembered a scene (around 7:44 in this clip) from dirty cop flick Training Day in which the main character is told about a man who beat a rap by sticking peanut butter down the back of his pants and waiting until he was in court to produce and eat it, shocking the judge who mistakes it for feces. The man gets remanded to an asylum instead of prison.

Orr thought this sounded like a great idea, but he simply didn’t have any peanut butter. He did however have a colostomy bag. Don’t read on if you just ate:

James Orr put an immediate halt to his criminal trial Wednesday when he squeezed the contents of his colostomy bag onto the table in front of him and ate it.

“There was what appeared to be feces on the table and on the floor,” assistant Hamilton County prosecutor David Prem said.

Prem was prosecuting Orr, 66, for robbery and kidnapping. The trial, without a jury before Common Pleas Court Judge Ethna Cooper, began last week but continued today.

A witness had just taken the stand in the case Wednesday when Norm Aubin, Orr’s attorney, said Orr leaned into him and asked if Aubin had anything to eat.

A shocked Aubin said he didn’t. Orr then said he was hungry and asked for food. Aubin ignored him.

That’s when Orr made a spectacle of taking his colostomy bag, worn on the outside of his body to collect his waste, and placing it on the table. He then squeezed it and looked to be eating it.

“It appeared he was eating his own (feces) at the table,” Aubin said.

The Sheriff’s deputy in the room shouted “What are you doing?” and then cuffed Orr and rushed him out of the courtroom.

The Sheriff’s office later reported there was feces on Orr’s lips, beard, hands and the defense table where he was sitting.

The judge suggested the courtroom had become a biohazard area and closed it for cleaning, continuing Orr’s trial until next week.

Prem admitted he almost vomited up while watching Orr’s antics but suspects they were done with a purpose.

“He’s a con man. He has over 50 aliases and has convictions in Ohio and New York for thefts and robberies,” Prem said.

“He’s done just about everything a person can do to avoid justice. He feigned (mental) incompetence” leading up to this trial, Prem said.

Orr was ordered to trial after court mental health workers deemed him mentally sound and a faker.

What kind of scumbag do you have to be to do that? Even after he has been exposed as a faker he escalates to this? And let’s not forget his crime:

Orr was being tried for robbery and kidnapping charges after officials said Orr and a partner tried to get money, in a ruse, from a woman buying food at a Silverton Chinese restaurant. When the woman wasn’t fooled, Orr is accused of pulling a gun on her – with her three children in the car outside – and taking her to a bank where she was forced to withdraw $1,000 and give it to Orr. He faces more than 60 years in prison on those charges.

Disgusting.

Thanks for Making Us Look Good Henry Louis Gates: Black Harvard Professor Gets Ghetto with Police with Predictable Results

Those results being the “preeminent” African-American scholar getting arrested, then running to his White friends to cry racism, thus both making Black people look A) foolish and B) absolutely dependent on Whites. Of course White “progressives” tend to encourage this sort of Uncle Tom-foolery because they all aspire to have a pet Black man to take to wine tastings, but it does a disservice to Black Americans by both infantilizing us while at the same time dehumanizing us by making it look as if we cannot be expected to live up to the same standards of behavior of White folk.

But first let’s set the scene. Henry Louis Gates, Jr was having trouble getting into to his swanky home paid for by his life long tap dancing to his progressive master’s tune. One of his enlightened east coast neighbors called a cop on him, at which point the detectives arrived to question him. That’s where the fun begins, because rather than thanking the officers for doing their job (protecting his stuff) and explaining the situation, he berated them repeatedly, calling them racists.

They then left, with the situation resolved, at which point Gates followed them out of his house to continue berating them. I would think you don’t need a PhD to know what Disorderly Conduct is, and how fast the cops in “blue states” are to slap that charge on you given the other blue staters’ delicate flower-like sensibilities. I didn’t think, before reading this, that a PhD robbed you of common sense. But apparently it does:

Harvard professor Henry Louis Gates Jr., one of the nation’s pre-eminent African-American scholars, was arrested Thursday afternoon at his home by Cambridge police investigating a possible break-in. The incident raised concerns among some Harvard faculty that Gates was a victim of racial profiling.

Police arrived at Gates’s Ware Street home near Harvard Square at 12:44 p.m. to question him. Gates, director of the W.E.B. Du Bois Institute for African and African American Research at Harvard, had trouble unlocking his door after it became jammed.

He was booked for disorderly conduct after “exhibiting loud and tumultuous behavior,” according to a police report. Gates accused the investigating officer of being a racist and told him he had “no idea who he was messing with,” the report said.

Gates told the officer that he was being targeted because “I’m a black man in America.”

Friends of Gates said he was already in his home when police arrived. He showed his driver’s license and Harvard identification card, but was handcuffed and taken into police custody for several hours last Thursday, they said.

The police report said Gates was arrested after he yelled at the investigating officer repeatedly inside the residence then followed the officer outside, where Gates continued to upbraid him. “It was at that time that I informed Professor Gates that he was under arrest,” the officer wrote in the report.

Gates, 58, declined to comment today when reached by phone.

I bet. The worst part is all the (predominantly White) supporters of Gates claiming it was a travesty of justice for cops to take a 58-year-old man who followed them outside his house to scream at them into custody.  Let’s get real here. Gates couldn’t get into his own home so someone he knows called the cops on him. He then, if I may use an outdated term that Gates will be familiar with, “showed his ass” to them and they let it go until he followed them outside. They kept him for a few hours then let him go. What’s that sound like to you?

Sounds like some drunk guy showed up at his house and looked like he was going to hurt himself so someone called 911. Like all drunks, he got belligerent and got thrown in the drunk tank until he sobered up. Racism? No brother, you’re just stupid.

And now he’s got all these White people claiming it’s racist for belligerent douchebags to get arrested for screaming and yelling at some cop who got called on him. No mention of his White neighbor who called the cops on him you’ll find. You know, the people who like to live next door to him because he adds “color” to the area? No, just a lot of nonsense from White folks and their house Negroes like Jesse Taylor of Pandagon, who followed up his piece about Gates with a misogynist hit piece on Star Parker at the behest of his White masters on JournoList.

But no one is willing to point out that Gates, the pinnacle of African-American academia, has run to his White Progressive friends just like a child would run to his parents to get them to protect him from his own behavior. If Gates were White and got locked up after screaming and yelling at cops no one would care. But because White Progressives are so enthralled by any Black person who can write a book (but only if that book tells them what they want to hear, right Henry?) they’ll coming running to his defense and excuse his outrageous and unseemly behavior.

After all, being Black they simply can’t expect more from him.

It reminds me of what Shelby Steele said about peope like Gates:
