An editorial columnist for the Detroit news raised eyebrows among the liberal journalist establishment by filing this unflattering piece on Communist dictator Hugo Chavez after returning from a 10-day trip to Venezuela. It details how Chavez has decimated the country in just a few short years with his “21st Century Socialism” which causes food shortages, encourages criminality in the poor and hordes oil wealth. It comes complete with pictures of the empty grocery shelves and spray painted propaganda.

Second Hand Conjecture has an interview with the author where he exposes the hypocrisy of rich celebrities carrying water for Chavez, calls Joe Kennedy a “lapdog”, and tells the truth about life under a Marxist dictatorship.You must read both pieces, if only to refute the outlandish claims of the American hating left about how much of a paradise Venezuela is.

Carter Center Supports Communist Expansion in Latin America

ECRISIS reports on the Carter Center shilling for brutal Communist expansion. Best quote about Jimmy’s little red cell I’ve ever read:

“The Carter Center- which never met a dictator they did not either fawn over or make lots of money from [or both] has no clue about what makes for a functioning democracy and frankly, their notions that Ecuadoreans demand an alternative democracy, which means a dysfunctional democracy, is already underway.”

Latin American Hezbollah Calls for Attacks Against U.S. Interests

HMJ at Western Hemisphere Policy Watch brings us disturbing news regarding the supposed Latin American Hezbollah branch which seems to be primarily active on the MSN web service. Hezbollah Latin America has announced that it will be attacking American and “Jewish” interests in response to one of their members being assassinated.

HMJ rightly points out that this wing of Hezbollah often strains credibility, and this new story of one of its members being assassinated by a CIA/Mossad operation is likely fantasy. But this fiction could be used to rally supporters to action, and if they’re linked to Hezbollah it’s possible (though maybe not likely) that they’ve got their hands on some of those Iranian munitions that Hezbollah used to bloody Israel’s nose.

Even if they don’t have the stroke to get their hands on a few long range rockets, Latin America has no shortage of small arms and explosives for sale on the black market. The group may or may not have branches in other South American countries, but all it takes is one or two hard core members with a couple of suicide vests going through a border check point for this branch to score points with the anti-American movements, and increase their recruiting power.

Iran’s already proved England is a paper tiger. Could Venezuela and their Iranian allies be plotting to use the Latin American Hezbollah to show the world America’s as incapable of action against them as the English?

Chavez Supporters on Rampage!

Publis Pundit has a report on Chavez supporting Communist mobs on a rampage against the “anti-revolutionary” privately owned TV station RCTV. The report is worth a read if only to see how bad things really are for people who love freedom in revolutionary Venezuela. As if to illustrate the point that Chavez supporters are little more then crazed thugs bent on causing pain and misery, you’ll notice that in the 5th pic down there’s a dead dog left under the vandals’ slogans. A dog that was no doubt terrorized and beaten to death by a group of wildly out of control “activists.”
