Another example of the loss of authority of our government. This is the second high profile shooting of an armed assailant at the capitol in the last year and a half:

U.S. Capitol Police officers shot a man Friday morning after he allegedly pointed a gun directly at them while walking near the Capitol.

The suspect’s condition wasn’t immediately known, according to a statement by Capitol Police spokeswoman Sgt. Kimberly Schneider. An initial report from local station WTTG indicated the suspect was shot in the abdomen but still breathing.

No officers were injured in the incident.

Officers received a radio alert around 5 a.m. that an armed man was in the vicinity and located him at 2nd and C Streets S.W.

“Fearing for their lives, officers fired their weapons,” Schneider said.

And who knows how many more crimes, as D.C. is notoriously dangerous. When a countries capitol is one of it’s worst areas, what does that mean for our future?
