A Quick Reposnse to the Mark Sanford Affair

This is a distraction that is should be dealt with by the Sanford family and later by voters if Sanford runs for office again. But otherwise:

None is so good he lacks all fault, none so wretched he lacks all virtue-Havamal as translated by Elsa-Brita Titchenell in The Masks ofOdin

  1. I think he should have at least told he was going to Argentina, then perhaps maybe people wouldn’t have thought he was missing.

  2. What a dumbass. At least this came out early, can you imagine what it would have been like if he had pulled a stunt remotely similar to this after declaring for the Republican presidential primaries in 2011? He would have been the poster boy of Republican “morals” and compared mercilessly to Obama, the faithful, loving father, husband and family man.

Of course there’s always the chance that by that time things might be so bad it wouldn’t matter.

  3. OMGs… I’m getting so sick of hearing about this already! It’s like the Clinton affairs all over again. Nobody’s business but his and his wife’s. Seriously.

What people should be focusing on is the fact that he left the country and didn’t tell anyone where he was going. That’s a much bigger deal than the affair, IMO. I mean, I don’t believe anyone should cheat on their spouse, but seriously, that’s between those directly involved. I don’t need to know about it because I don’t believe it has anything whatever to do with a person’s ability to perform their job. Basically abandoning your post and not letting anyone know how to contact you does, and that was just stupid on his part.
