A.N.S.W.E.R. Affiliated Miscreants Disrupt Easter Mass

A group of self-righteous cretin calling themselves “Catholic Schoolgirls Against the War” disrupted a Chicago Easter service in by screaming nonsense and squirting themselves and innocent bystanders with fake blood:

Chicago, IL. — Six anti-war protesters have been charged Sunday afternoon following an Easter service disruption at Holy Name Cathedral in the Loop Sunday morning.

Three men and three women were arrested at the Holy Name Cathedral at 735 N. State St. about 11:40 a.m., according to police News Affairs Officer Marcel Bright.

The men arrested were 21-year-old Donte D. Smith, 22-year-old Ephran Ramirez, Jr., and 25-year-old Ryane J. Ziemba, according to police News Affairs.

The women arrested were 18-year-old Mercedes Phinaih, 25-year-old Regan Maher and 20-year-old Angela Haban.

All six protesters have been charged with two counts of felony criminal damage to property and two counts of simple battery.

They were arrested during Easter services presided over by Cardinal Francis George, which began at 11 a.m. Due to repairs being made in the cathedral, services were held in the cathedral auditorium.

The anti-war group “Catholic Schoolgirls Against The War” has claimed responsibility for the protest.

The group sat through the 11 a.m. mass until Cardinal George reached the homily. A few seconds into the main holiday message, the protesters rose from their seats, turned to address the thousands of parishioners in the auditorium and talked about the continuing death of both Iraqis and Americans in Iraq, according to a release from HammerHard, a non-profit activist group.

The protesters then lied down in the aisles and discharged packets of fake blood that covered them in red. Ushers, along with some Chicago police officers who were stationed in the lobby to help with traffic control, rushed in to remove the protesters, the release said.

The protesters also denounced the January 7 meeting in Chicago between Cardinal George, Mayor Richard Daley, and President George W. Bush.

Yes, how dare elected officials and notable clergyman meet with the President? Why, it’s almost as if people don’t know that we should be following the dictates of armchair revolutionaries and parent supported radicals.

The Chicago Tribune has a more detailed description of the mayhem:

Six protesters disrupted the beginning of Cardinal Francis George’s homily to shout their opposition to the Iraq war. The demonstrators—who called themselves Catholic Schoolgirls Against the War, despite their male and female membership—squirted fake blood on themselves and nearby worshipers as security guards tried to usher them from the parish’s auditorium, where mass is being said during repairs on the downtown Chicago cathedral.

The syrupy red substance—which one protester later described as “stage blood”—initially drew horrified gasps and a few shrieks from the 600 worshipers at the mass. The shock, however, quickly gave way to anger as people booed the demonstrators while they were being removed from the hall.

Several churchgoers then rushed to the bathroom to wash off the sticky liquid. Others cried openly. A few livid parents followed the protesters into the lobby and berated them for scaring children at mass.

“Are you happy with yourselves?” Mike Wainscott of Chicago shouted at the demonstrators as they were being handcuffed by police. “There were kids in there. You scared little kids with your selfish act. Are you happy now?

The protesters were all charged with felony criminal defacement of property and two counts of simple battery for defacing church property and the worshipers’ clothes with the fake blood.

The Trib also has unedited video on their site, including the perpetrators smirking at the cameras as they’re led off to jail.

In my youth, church desecrations were, shall we say, philosophically motivated and frankly a bit passé even then. However, one could at least grudgingly respect the devil worshipers who burned so many churches in Europe; they were pious if misguided, as faithful to evil as you and I might be to good.

The boorish progeny of an effete and nihilistic “peace” movement, the co-ed members of Catholic School Girls Against the War have no real ax to grind with Catholics or any other Christians however, but chose to desecrate a church on a whim, and mainly because they knew that the Christians wouldn’t kill them.

These are the spoiled children of the Nouveau Riche who, with too much time on their hands and too little respect for those religious Americans their parents and college professors hate so much, thought desecrating the holy sanctum of Chicago Catholics on the most important day of the year was simply good, clean fun.

Unsurprisingly, C.S.A.W. was an endorser (and participant) of this March 19 A.N.S.W.E.R. chaos. No doubt this group is yet another World Worker’s Party front group, which explains the real motive for their outlandishly hateful behavior.

Even Democratic Underground is speaking out against this depravity. Well, about 60% is, the other 40% of the comments on their post support desecrating mass. I know, it’s a shock.

The group are members The Illinois Coalition for Peace and Justice and are described on the site this way:

Catholic Schoolgirls Against the War is a humorous, political street threatre group composed of college students and young adults. The group was formed in October of 2006 and meets twice per month.

I’d take issue with the “adults” part. But I guess you just don’t get better “humorous, political street theatre” than desecrating a church and ruining the Easter celebrations of unsuspecting Christians. Since they have a contact email why not tell them how funny you think the whole affair was?

Surprise! They look exactly like you’d expect:

Above is Angela Haban (who is clearly high) Mercedes Phinaih and Regan Maher. Maher is 25 years old. Yes, 25 and she’s getting arrested with a teenager and a stoner. The future’s looking bright Regan!

Here are the “men”:

You’re looking at Ryne Ziemba, Donte Smith, and Ephran Ramirez Jr. Ryne is, like Regan, 25 and too old to be carrying on like this. I blame their parents.

The funny thing about this story is that were I to do something similar to a Mosque (many of whom have leaders who have met with the President or various officials) the above prigs would shake their head ruefully and decry my bad taste and lack of tolerance. But if anyone calls them on their anti-Catholic bigotry they’ll answer with a derisive laugh and one of those dreadful quotes from Marx that every loser supported by their rich parents throws around these days.

Update: Via Gateway Pundit, Donte Smith served time in a federal prison for another ill conceived protest. The bonds were set high enough to give these kids a couple of days to think about their lives (a good thing) but since three months in the federal pen didn’t put a dent in Donte’s hard head I’m not hopeful.

The allies of the group, which included the vile and most likely murderous International Solidarity Movement, are referring to the group as the “Holy Name 6” and are trying to raise money for their bail.

  1. You have no right to blame the parents of any of these individuals, and if you knew the parents of Ryne Ziemba, you wouldn’t. I’m a school teacher who grew up with the Ziemba family, and I can tell you that the Ziembas raised their four children to think and speak for themselves, to be pround of who they are, and to stand up for what they believe in. You have to right to judge these individuals or what their future will be like. Remember the Civil Rights Movement? The Feminist Movement? Where would we be today without people who were willing to take risks and take a stand for a cause they believe in?

  2. Carrie – these people may have been taught to “think and speak for themselves,” but they clearly didn’t pick up good decision making skills along the way. This behavior wasn’t hip or edgy. It wasn’t an revolutionary act of civil disobedience. And it most certainly was not not to draw attention to the peace movement.

This act was designed for one purpose – for these idiots to draw attention to themselves. They are part of the “me, me, me” generation, and acted accordingly by disrespecting everyone around them, including the children they frightened and the churchgoers who had to endure the interruption of mass.

Open your eyes, Carrie. This was not young people taking a stand. It was an act of selfishness and bigotry.

  3. Though my wife really hit the nail on the head in her response I can’t let this go.

Are you really saying that desecrating a church, a Catholic church where the majority of the people may be anti-war anyway, is the same as Civil Rights protests?

Are you claiming that the peaceful struggle to grant my Grandparents their rights under our constitution is morally the same as causing thousands of dollars worth of damage to a church?

    Really?

As I said in the post, many a Mosque leader has met with the President and I dare say that you’d feel different if they pulled the same stunt.

ANSWER and the like minded groups hate Black people and see them as violent animals. Read their press releases taking credit for the LA riots or their attempts to glorify the Jena 6, thugs who beat a kid until he bled out his ears. Read Che’s qoutes on Blacks, or Marx’s.

Then look at the one Black guy involved, Donte Smith, who’s already been in the Federal pen because his White radical friends encouraged him to “take a stand” and now he’s arrested again. His life in ruined and all these White kids he hangs around will move on forget about him, the Black man with a criminal record who will be lucky to get a job.

Your really disgusting lady, this was a hate crime against Catholics, this was an example of how spoiled White kids act in hateful, immature ways and you think it’s the same as standing up for Black Americans civil rights? Your minimizing the Black struggle by comparing it to anti-Catholic street theater by a group of little bastards whose parents, and from your letter apparently you, taught them they were better than everyone else.

Well I hope your proud, and equally proud when those boys are getting raped in prison. Maybe you’ll be equally proud in Hell where, if there is justice in the universe, sactimonious harridans who encourage bigotry and divisivness burn while being read the names of all the people whose lives your idoicy has ruined.

  4. Robert,

There are many more races than black and white. Speaking as a personal acquaintance of all of these young adults, only two are in fact white people. You don’t know Donte and know how he relates to the other individuals. Your little fantasy of the Pure Black Man exploited by his Lefty White “Friends,” is the most racist thing I’ve seen yet in all the coverage of this event. It just isn’t possible that a black american could decide to take stand like this without white, lefty coercion, is it? They’d by and large be good, obedient citizens if the commies would just stop whispering bile in their ears, wouldn’t they?

Further, the last thing these folks wanted was to be paid attention to individually. They had a message to deliver, they picked a time when it would be listened to–because the big marches and persuasive essays have done *so* much to change the status quo–and they spoke up. Let’s pull up a little history of protest here: if you’re a believe, practicing Christian, and you’re not a Catholic, then the roots of your faith practice lie in a man nailing a manifesto to a chatedral door with his dagger.

That your response is to wish rape and damnation on them for that turns my stomach. What kind of sick fuck thinks that disrupting a church service and staining a carpet is morally equivalent to violent sexual assault?!?

Time to get you head and your moral compass checked out.

  5. Ben-You’re either a shameless liar or retarded.

    1) You know that, technically, many Latinos are in fact White, as in of European descent. It is typical of White liberals (like yourself) to exoticise people who come from different countries (but are still caucasian) as a way of giving them more hipster cache and in an attempt to “prove” you’re not a scumbag racist.

    2) As a Bi-racial person (like your precious Obama) I found your little tirade against my “racism” tinged with the sort of bigotry all Marxists cling to. Being dupped into thinking these White folk who will run home to their rich parents care about Donte Smith is different than coercion. But since I’m not “pure” White I reckon you thought i didn’t really know what the word meant. If you were really a man who cared about Smith, or if his friends were really his freinds, maybe they’dsay “You know Donte, since you just got out of the Pen a few years ago why don’t you sit this one out. We’ve got this.”

Maybe if you guys really cared you’d share thos Che and Marx quotes about how Black people were inferior to Whites. Don’t come here an imply that you’re some sort of “rightious White man” who is less bigoted than me, more enlightened so to speak, because you think a young brother making some bad decisions is a great political statement.

    3) What was the message these people delivered? That the head of that church cannot meet with people you and your thugs find acceptable? That you and some spoiled, bored Jackasses are the arbiters of what is and isn’t acceptable for for Catholics to do and think? Sounds like typical bigotry to me, and as I’ve said above there are plenty of Imams that have met with Bush, why not protest in a Mosque the same way?

    4) Are you really comparing this to Martin Luther? Really? Martin Luther didn’t desecrate a church, he pinned a note to the outer door in the manner common to the time. Luther was a Catholic protesting the secular corruption of the Church, including it becoming a political rather than religious institution, not some dick with a bad attitude. But most importantly Luther didn’t interupt the Easter mass nor did he permanently destroy part of the inner sactum.

Are you really so dim as to not see the difference? A Catholic believe the Easter Mass is literally a sacred happeneing, to inturupt it is to insult Jesus and the church. The staining of the carpet will cost the Church thousands of dollars, the people squirted with blood will have to pay hundreds to clean or replace their clothing. You and your rich friends may not know the value of money but by the gods I bet these working people do!

And yet you see no difference between Martin Luther and six degenerates. You’re either a hateful bigot trying to con me into thinking your little freinds actions are acceptable or you’re a mentally deficient.

    5) I don’t advocate prison rape, but it’s the reality. You really are a piece of shit aren’t you, what exactly do you think will happen to those kids in prison? You think the prisoners will accept some badly xeroxed pamphlets on marxism from them while listening to fiery Bob Avakian speeches on tape or will those boys be passed around? All the adults who led this kids (including the 25 year olds) to think that getting arrested is cool are people who never had to sit in prison. When they come out more sullen and angry you’ll want think it’s because they are ready to fight “the man” I’m sure, but you’ll know it’s because they were brutalized. You won’t care though, anything for the revolution, right?

    6) If I threw fake blood in a mosque to protest something would you think it was a heroic stand? Of course not, because you’re a hypocrite. The Catholics are easy targets so you vent the anger that festers in you from years of parental abuse of neglect, drug abuse or just a string bad relationships at people who would no doubt help you if you asked.

It is your moral compass that needs checking if you think desecrating churches is no big deal. What difference is there between you and the Satanists in Norther Europe who burned Churches, or Jay Scott Ballinger who burned at least 26 churches in the late 90s? I say little except for one important point.

Jay Scott Ballinger and others like him admit to the evilness of their acts, and accept their punishment without crying about it. They are thugs, but they, unlike anyone in your movement, can accept responsibility for their actions withut making up excuses. They needed no pretty lies about Catholics secretly supporting the war, they burned churches because they hated Christians.

Your little friends did the same, but don’t have the guts to admit it.

  6. This post is a tragedy.
I’m embarrassed to be in the same country with you Rob Taylor, please don’t vote.

  7. If you’re embarrassed why not leave? I’m sure you’d be more comfortable in Cuba or North Korea or any country where you can simply condemn my opinions without explaining why. Fascist.
